Mr Shindig’s Laughter Store ended 2015 as a new little diamond in the North East comedy scene’s crown. Its first show back of the new year shows no sign of letting up either, with another packed line-up of the region’s top comics and the finest up and comers. A stellar assortment of carefully curated acts is just one part, as the energy and warmth of a show where anything can happen is a definite reason to go. With game shows, talent shows and Die Hard Live all happening at previous shows, who knows what this Burns Night special could have in store on Monday 25 January at True Coffeehouse.

Regular host Joby Mageean is back to hold it all together, an affable MC he’ll be getting plenty of laughs while still setting the room up perfectly for the performers that follow. January’s joviality includes the effervescent energy and hilarity of Lee Kyle; comedy impressionist with spot-on voices and bang-on jokes, Cal Halbert; the always daft founder of Silly Billies Jack Gardner; the engaging anecdotal style of Catherine Scott, and the geeky charm of newcomer Neil Harris. This selection of acts is sure to the see this cosy little venue packed out again, so get there early and get a seat for one of the most unique comedy nights going.

Mr Shindig’s Laughter Store takes place at True Coffeehouse, Heaton on Monday 25th January.
