Reliably informed

Having continually proved themselves as firm supporters of the local music scene, post-punk duo Massa Confusa once again demonstrate their good taste by releasing a compilation album featuring some of their favourite artists. The second volume curated by the band, due for release as a digital download and limited CD and cassette, showcases a range of artists from an eclectic field of genres. A brand new single from the band themselves is also complemented by new releases from collaborative side project Five Pence Game, exclusive cuts by experimental rockers Waheela and post-punkers Casual Threats, plus tracks from fuzz rockers Fret!, pop punk band Nomihodai and many more.

To celebrate the launch of the album, and the release of Massa Confusa’s new single Dark World, Newcastle’s Northumberland Arms will see the hosts themselves perform alongside queer punx Kinky, York-based popsters On The Ropes and loveable nerds Skull Puppies on Saturday 27th February. If you can’t wait that long to get your fill of top tunes from carefully chosen local acts, Massa Confusa and Casual Threats also play a show at Stockton’s Music Lounge on Friday 19th February featuring the bluesy rock swagger of Cellar Door and snarly duo Mouses; while on Saturday 20th February they’re joined at Durham’s Empty Shop HQ by one-man laptronica guru Dressed In Wires and synth funk band Preqwal.
