Being the son of alt. country artist Steve Earle, Justin Townes Earle was destined for a life in music, but he has produced a back catalogue that is more than enough to see him standing on his own two feet. With his eighth record, The Saint Of Lost Causes, due for release in late May, Justin is strapping on his acoustic guitar and hitting the road on a tour that will call in at Newcastle’s Live Theatre on Tuesday 25th June thanks to the region’s premier Americana promoters Jumpin’ Hot Club.

Townes Earle’s musical apple doesn’t fall too far from the family tree; his style embraces folk and Americana within his tales of womanising, addiction and debauchery, another family trait. Always a confessional songwriter, 2017’s Kids In The Street was a more personal record as he became a father himself – not to mention sober and married – whilst his latest release takes a wider look at the world.

In support at the Newcastle gig will be Roseanne Reid, an Edinburgh-born singer-songwriter and daughter of The Proclaimers’ Craig, who has been a former BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominee and recently released her debut record, Trails.
