Born Lippy continue to push boundaries for spoken word, poetry, hip-hop and grime in the North East. On Friday 20th March at Alphabetti Theatre, Ken Masters, Reali-T and Drop Dead Fred will remove themselves from their comfort zone of typical PA performance and perform stripped-back sets with an electric guitar.

In 2019, Rick Fury and HB featured at a similar Born Lippy Hip-Hop Unplugged event, performing their lyrics with the backing of Alex Boone on piano. This time around well-known MC Drop Dead Fred will play guitar to accompany Ken Masters and Reali-T alongside a solo performance combining his own rap skills.

Ken Masters is fresh from releasing Cosmic Viking Wizard Funk as part of new project BadRoaches. As one of the leading figures in the North East hip-hop scene, Ken is a veteran, pioneer and legend. Reali-T is a slightly newer name than Ken, but is well established with strong support and cross-over appeal in the region beyond the rap scene. With an ability to tackle socially conscious issues in one breath and drop hilarious punchlines in the next, ‘Ya Boy From Hackney’ recently made his comeback with new single M.Y.O.B.
