The jazz quintet are asking for suggestions of places in Newcastle to create a digital tour guide of the city, ahead of their show at The Globe on Sunday 28th November
cinematic jazz quintet, Emma Johnson’s Gravy Boat are heading out on tour and will be stopping by The Globe Newcastle on Sunday 28th November. The band will be performing their blend of melodic, accessible music, influenced by film scores, hard bop and contemporary European jazz, in a set that will include songs from their warmly received album Worry Not.
Ahead of the show Gravy Boat are asking local folk, audience members and other artists to name their favourite places in Newcastle, alongside a story as to why that place is special. Whether it is a record store, a coffee shop or a cultural landmark, the places suggested (and their stories), will be woven amongst music from the band and live footage to create a digital tour guide to Newcastle, which will be shared in the New Year. To be a part of this project, you can either share your place on social media with the tag #mymusiccity or email voice notes, pictures or text to emma@johnsonmusic.co.uk
