Lockdown is over (sort of) and things are starting to return to normal (sort of) and after five months of being shelved comedian Carl Hutchinson returns with a show that is also the first performance at Newcastle’s historic Tyne Theatre & Opera House after their pandemic induced hiatus.

Allowed to Play Out Again on Saturday 10th October is an hour long stand-up performance socially distanced and Covid-19 secure, with seating bubbles adhering to the current guidelines (if you sit together you got to be from the same household or support bubble) and finishing by 9:45pm to adhere to curfew. However, don’t let all those rules get in the way of what will be a great evening of laughter from one of the region’s finest comic talents (with support) in a venue that signified a significant part of his career.

“The Tyne Theatre is such an important venue to me. It was the first big venue in Newcastle I sold out under my own name. There’s something about that room that’s just perfect for comedy. I was proud to be the guy leading the way with the LIVE from the Tyne comedy streams and am absolutely thrilled to be the first person playing it post-lockdown. I’m a massive fan of comedy and I hope people can see that in the show. Bring it on!”

Doors to seats are at 6:45pm and the show starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are available hereIf you have already booked as a mixed household, then email the theatre at to rearrange your seating.
