With a trio of Australia’s finest punk bands, on paper this is a night not to be missed. Opening the show are Crocodylus, who instantly whip this packed room into a frenzy. The sold out crowd is already a mass of over excited energy, but their distinct brand of punk is certainly to everyone’s taste. They’re quickly followed by Bad Dreems, whose style is distinctly different to the other two bands on the bill. However, they’re no less engaging; angst-filled and passionate, they power through an equally impressive set.

The bar looks to be almost impossibly high for The Chats. Fortunately they come out all guns blazing, powerful, riff-laden and intense. With a slew of bodies falling in front of them, they quickly sweep aside those who’ve gone before them. Tracks like I’m The Best In The World and Mum Stole My Darts prove to be early highlights, it’s the latter part of the set where they truly come alive though.

Smoko incites a riotous reaction from this packed crowd, quickly followed by Identity Theft and finally Pub Feed. The Chats are truly on fire tonight, as they tear apart Riverside in impressive style, with their own distinct brand of punk rock.
