Oh, what fun we had when Madness hit the town on their Hit Parade UK tour. Before the Nutty Boys hit the stage we were treated to a performance by legendary pop rock band Squeeze who played a superb set including classics Up The Junction and Cool For Cats. A fantastic set by an iconic band who will be returning to Newcastle next year, definitely a show to check out!
It was then time to go One Step Beyond as Suggs and company entered the stage delivering his iconic line “Hey you, don’t watch that, watch this” which led to the band bursting into hit after hit and gave the fez wearing crowd no option but to dance. As the show progressed, the party continued with giant inflatable balls being released into the crowd while hit after hit was played as well as throwing in a cover of Wizzard’s I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday and then finishing on crowd pleaser Night Boat To Cairo allowing us to have one last dance.
