Reliably informed

Darlington’s up and coming indie rock quintet Pink Moon prepare to release their new single, By My Side. Here, we find out all we can about the band…

Who are you and where are you from?
We’re Pink Moon. Five lads from Darlo. Towns on vocals, Jonny and Ben on guitars, Mason on bass and Colly on drums.

What is it you do?
We’re an indie/rock band. Write songs; perform gigs.

How long have you been doing it?
So we started pre-covid but it got put on hold for a while. We’ve been taking it seriously the last 18 months.

What inspires you?
Gigging, meeting other local bands that are grafting away. Finding the time to write, record, perform your music whilst having full time jobs isn’t easy. It means you come across people who are in it because they truly love what they are doing.

Tell us about your music
We have all got our own influences. You might hear some RHCP in the guitars, Oasis in the vocals. If that comes out individually in the music, I am not sure. We grew up on 90s, early 2000s indie/rock so there’s probably a lot of influence in there from that. But hopefully all our different influences creates its own thing.

What have you got coming up in the future?

Our new single By My Side is out 13th October. We’re going to get this EP recorded eventually – then line up some gigs early 2024!
