Who are you and where are you from?
Moonlight Surf is North Shields-based Christopher Smith.
What is it you do?
I am a singer, songwriter and producer
How long have you been doing it?
I have been playing guitar and singing since I was about 13, writing and playing music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember really.
Tell us about your music.
I have performed solo and in bands including Le Jarra and the Beaus and have worked with producers including locally based Harbourmaster, Rod Jones from Idlewild, Guy Massey (Grammy Award winner and producer to artists including Ed Sheeran, the Manic Street Preachers, and Kylie).
What inspires you?
Moonlight Surf has a different feel from my past music projects – catchy, shoegazey songs with a summer night feel. My influences include Bon Iver, Tame Impala, Bjork and Radiohead.
What have you got coming up in the future?
My new single – Another Tale For The Union is out on 3rd April, listen on Spotify, Apple Music and all the usual listening platforms
