We find out all we can about the Newcastle-based alt-rock band ahead of the release of their latest single, Loose Ends
Who are you and where are you from?
We are Decrepit Youths, a five-piece dual-fronted alt-rock band from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne
What is it you do?
We make high-energy, fast-paced rock, with deep lyrics and catchy melodies.
How long have you been doing it?
We have been working nonstop behind the scenes for the last 12 months – writing, recording, and preparing to launch this band with a big bang!
What inspires you?
Each of us has our own individual inspirations and influences. Think hard rock to modern charts! Somehow we’ve managed to blend all of this together to blueprint our sound. If we were to name some similar bands I guess Don Broco, Architects, You Me at Six, BMTH would be who’s influenced us the most.
Tell us about your music
Our music is heavily riff-driven, with synth-soaked textures and lots of distortion! We always try to make sure the vocals are catchy enough for listeners to remember, with meaningful lyrics that people can relate to.
What have you got coming up in the future?
We have had a year of developing our sound. We have not stopped writing and recording, so we have new releases planned every 6-8 weeks. We’re hoping the music speaks for itself, and we can get it to as many listeners as possible.
Where can people find out more about you?
