Who are you and where are you from?
I’m Channy and I’m a singer-songwriter from the west end of Newcastle.

What is it you do?
I’m a performer who travels across the UK and abroad to sing at festivals.

How long have you been doing it?
Although I’ve always known I had a passion and love for performing when I was growing up, I didn’t find the courage to pursue a career in music until I was in my early 20’s.

I’ve been part of the industry for 7 years now and even though at times it’s a bumpy ride, I have no regrets in choosing this path.

What inspires you?
I have many artists who inspire me to do what I do today, Celine Dion and Pink being my two biggest inspirations. Not just because of their powerful voices, big performances and explosive production, but who they are as people too. They are the sort of people I’d want to be friends with. They have morals and respect, they understand what work ethic is and appreciate the team they work with to help them be what they are. That to me is so important!

When I was a young girl there was never any opportunities or guidance for me. I’ve grown up to become the person I needed when I was younger, creating platforms in a safe fun environment for young upcoming talent to have the opportunity to do what they love, make memories and find forever friends. Even though I have plenty of stars who inspire me, nothing inspires and motivates me more than seeing the youth I work with defy anything thrown at them. Seeing them have the courage to get up on stage and do what they do, the way they do it, leaves me in awe every single time.

Tell us about your music.
As an energetic performer I have landed myself some exciting support slots for artists such as Jess Glynne, Sigala, Olly Murs, Nathan Sykes, Scouting for Girls, Tulisa and many more.

By December 2018 I had made history with ‘The Unstoppable Concert’, becoming the first unsigned artist in the world to headline a hometown arena. The community initiated concert was created and founded by myself and the model was designed with the objective of inspiring talented youngsters and providing them the opportunity to perform on one of the UK’s most famous stages, all whilst aiming to make a positive change in the community by filling the arena seats with disadvantaged families from underprivileged backgrounds.

As an independent artist I feel so lucky to have performed at some of the UK’s most established venues. I’ve performed at Metro Radio Arena, Bents Park, O2 Arena London, headlined my own sold out show at the O2 Academy Newcastle’s main stage, as well as a sold out UK tour. During the 2020 pandemic I featured on the line up of Klub Kids Summer Mania festival alongside Atomic Kitten and more at Newcastle’s Virgin Money Unity Arena that hit media worldwide as the first socially distanced large scale event.

Over the past few years I’ve been fortunate enough to be booked for over Fifty Pride festivals, including Gran Canaria, Leeds, Birmingham, Liverpool, Cardiff, Northern and so many more, which has gave me the opportunity to travel internationally and see the world.

I’m also a proud young ambassador for local North East charity NE Youth, and GirlGuiding Newcastle. This gives me a lot of purpose and I love having an input in the young lives of those within my local community.

What have you got coming up in the future?
As the world is finally working its way out of the pandemic, I have a very busy year ahead. I have some festivals to announce that I’ve dreamed of playing for years, and I have headline tours and big shows in the pipeline.

I’m currently working with producers and co writers to start releasing as much music as possible. This is something I’ve always been under confident with but I’m finally taking steps in the right direction. My brand new single I Don’t Care is my favourite self penned song yet and I’m excited to release the song on 15th October 2021 (pre-save it here)
