The metropolitan music festival reveals the artists performing at this year’s event in Middlesbrough
The return of award-winning multi-venue music festival Twisterella is a welcome thing indeed. Taking place on Saturday 9th October across Middlesbrough, this year’s event more than makes up for last year’s postponement, and once again brings a vast range of artists across a multitude of genres to the town.
It’s easy to see how Twisterella won a prestigious AIF Independent Festival Award for its ‘forward thinking bookings’; the festival is fast becoming the perfect place to discover your new favourite band, and this year headliners include Fatherson, Lauran Hibberd, The Howl & The Hum, Jordan MacKampa and Dream Nails, with high profile slots for Hyyts, Marthagunn, Tom Joshua, Fortitude Valley and Venus Grrrls. One of the joys of the festival is discovering something completely new, and the hidden gems are worth the price of the ticket alone; artists including Bored At My Grandma’s House, Blanketman, I See Rivers, Mt. Misery, Straight Girl, Luke Royalty, James Leonard Hewitson, Twist Helix, Marketplace, Phibi and Jodie Nicholson are certain to be festival highlights, and there’s much more besides!
Co-promoters Henry Carden and Andy Carr are rightfully proud of this year’s line-up, with Andy commenting: “After the uncertainty of the past year there’ll be no better way to reconnect in the heart of Middlesbrough. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Twisterella. Twisterella is such a special event and we’re incredibly proud of what it means to the region’s music fans.”
Over 40 artists are taking part in this year’s festival, with venues including Teesside University Students’ Union, Westgarth Social Club, The Townhouse and TSOne, with pop-up sessions taking place at Off The Ground, Rafferty’s, The Bottled Note among others.
Tickets priced at an extremely wallet-friendly £20 (+bf) are available here. Check out the feature in our forthcoming October issue for more!
