So… how was your 2024?
Some of it was shite, some of it was mint.
What was your best moment?
Getting divorced.
And your worst moment?
Getting divorced.
Who was your favourite band/artist this year?
Well, my Spotify Wrapped is telling me it’s The Stranglers and who am I to disagree?
Your favourite song of the year?
I played ‘Sundown’ by Gordon Lightfoot 134 times according to Spotify. The stats don’t lie. Of 2024? That’s a tough one.
Recommended album?
Field Music – Limits of Language.
Favourite TV show of the year?
Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light.
Your favourite film?
Zone of Interest. It’s about Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Hoss.
Best book you read?
Hitler’s Monsters by Eric Kurlander. A very interesting read about the way esotericism and mysticism influenced the Nazi party.
Favourite new word that you learned?
Jelqing.
Best podcast?
I listen to random history ones on BBC Sounds.
Favourite venue that you visited?
Cafe Etch in Boro is always nice.
What was your favourite gig/show of the year?
That has to be The Stranglers at Newcastle City Hall.
Tell us about 2024’s guilty pleasure.
I don’t feel that emotion.
And your best discovery this year?
Locally, probably Field Music or Amelia. Nationally, I don’t think there was anyone that really stood out.
Any up-and-coming artists/acts to keep an eye out for in 2025?
My homeboy Stock Image is banging out some serious tuneage.
Any predictions for next year? I live one day at a time.
Is there anything you hope to tick off your bucket list in 2025? Probably to get my photo taken with Kingsley from Benefits again.
