Heaton‑based outfit Alice Street fuse rock, ska, punk and hip‑hop into sharp, infectious snapshots of everyday life. Fronted by an MC, they’ve built a reputation for high‑energy shows and fearless genre‑hopping.

The band release their brand new single Liquid Gold and we’re delighted to be given an exclusive listen to it. Sonically, it hits with scatty beats, sharp bursts of brass and crunchy guitar breaks, all driven by vocals that flip from a growl to rapid‑fire bars. A smoky, jazz‑bar drop — lounge beats, atmospheric brass and a ripping drive‑time solo — kicks the track into gear before it barrels into a fierce, climactic finish. It’s an energetic and thoroughly entertaining listen.

Here, the band, who are set to perform at Stockton calling this Saturday (4th April), tell us more… “Blending our backgrounds of rap, rock, and bossa-nova, we approached writing this track to highlight the dialogue that takes place when faced with temptation, and the struggle of not succumbing to that temptation. The track title hints at the “demon drink”, with ambiguous lyrical references to the vices it often preludes. We’ve tried to capture the internal monologue based on our own experiences – when the devil on your shoulder encourages you to sip the sweet nectar of liquid gold.”
