Focus: Noah ajc

Who are you and where are you from?
I’m Noah ajc, a 16-year-old singer-songwriter from Middlesbrough.

What is it you do?
Most days I’m just an average sixth form student, apart from that I make and release pop music and post far too many Instagram stories about it.

How long have you been doing it?
I’ve been making music since I was about 12 years old when I started attending a youth music programme in Redcar. I started to record my music professionally with my co-writer and producer Kate Fallin’ in 2023 – now we have released a full EP of songs in 2024 and we’re working on the second Noah ajc EP!

What inspires you?
I’m really inspired by all the different types of pop music that I love. I try to make music that I would like to listen to myself, so I’m really inspired when making a song by my favourite artists that I can talk about forever; Holly Humberstone, Griff, The 1975, Lorde, Jade, Sam Fender and Chappell Roan. Maybe a bit too long of a list but pop music is my life and I could add 100 more artists on there

Tell us about your music
All of my music is indie/synth-pop, fun (sometimes sad), and catchy. I’ve just released my new single ‘Medicine’, which you can listen to now by the way! It starts off chilled but then builds up into my favourite song that I’ve released yet with a bunch of synths and drums. I write all my music with my producer Kate Fallin’ in our little studio in Redcar. Not to be biased, but I think my music is pretty good and people should definitely listen to it.

What have you got coming up in the future?
Well, I’ve just put out a new song called Medicine, which will be the lead single for my next EP. To be honest, I haven’t really got a plan set in stone for my next second big release but maybe by this time next year I’ll be able to share more songs and hopefully I’ll be releasing a few songs this year. Aside from releasing music, I’ll be playing some gigs this year, one of them is in Stockton-on-Tees at The Green Room where I’m supporting for Cavello on the 2nd May. It’d be great if I could see some people there!
