Newcastle-based promoters Byker Grave Bookings, Conviction Records and Venom Events have launched What Happens Next — a new initiative offering practical support to DIY promoters across the North East. The project provides help with booking, marketing, logistics and event management, alongside financial backing for those looking to bring bands to the region or showcase local talent.

Drawing on years of experience in metal, hardcore and punk promotion, the team aims to remove early barriers for emerging promoters and support small-scale shows in independent venues. Recent beneficiaries include Chris Lingwood, who assisted with bringing LA hardcore veterans Terror to Newcastle’s Digital.
