Full Circle are celebrating the Day of the Dead
While most of us will be planning to don costumes of witches, zombies and other assorted ghouls (including the terrifying bedsheet monster) this Halloween, in Mexico they’ll be participating in one of the most colourful and vibrant celebrations of death you’ll ever see. As part of Stockton’s Arc Cultural Shift, Full Circle are now producing a special performance, Los Muertos, which explores the themes of the day and the surrounding festival.
In the production, The White Lady, a traditional Mexican ghost, is seeking her lost love, while the Puppetmeister (a Full Circle original creation) works his dark magic to ensure that they are never reunited. Using physical theatre, it promises to be a sometimes dark story with comic elements exploring mortality, dark forces, and the concept of everlasting love. As you’d expect from one of the world’s most unlikely colourful festivals, it will also boast a distinctive visual style, a magnificent set and costumes, complete with digital screen work to bring this underworld to life. Strap yourself in for a killer evening of entertainment.
Los Muertos comes to Stockton’s Arc on Wednesday 4th November.
