DREAM SHOW – All The Nines

Hartlepudlian math rockers All The Nines prepare to release their new EP via Shy Bairn Records. Here, they pay homage to their fellow North East artists by curating a Dream Show featuring their favourite local bands…

“There’s endless bands we could put on in a dream show. We’ve all loved music for as long as we’ve had ears so could easily curate a festival of past and present legends to last a week or more!

“We thought we’d keep things real-life and shine some light on great local emerging talent we’d love to play a mint show with. Probably a half-day gig with some local business/creatives able to showcase their wares, too.

“The venue would be somewhere of the size of The Studio in Hartlepool or the Georgian Theatre in Stockton. Somewhere intimate, but not tiny, with a vibe and connection to the local scene. All the bands would have a nice rider with their favourite stuff and get really well looked after.

“The line-up would be picked in random order so there’s no headliner as such. Bands are encouraged to stay all day and ask fans to do the same to keep the place bouncing for everyone.

“Playing would probably be: Onlooker – we go back a long way with these guys and they’re amazing live. Loads of energy and swagger. Super tight and well good. Wingz of the Monkey – A class up and coming local band which have been going from strength to strength lately. Punky alt. rock with just enough quirks to set them apart from the crowd. Lurcher – Young post-punk band from Hartlepool who have developed a really unique sound. Absolutely on the nose lyrics painting a picture of a life of hope in a bleak Northern Town. Definitely one to watch. Maeve and the Trains – these are a really great, fun and quirky punk three-piece. Some brilliant songs and they’re great to watch, with a wicked sense of humour with their stage chat. Cane Rouge – Love these, they’re indie / alt. rocky with some great noisy tunes and smashing guys to boot.”
