TRACK REVIEW: Holly Rees – Missing Out (Again)

Holly Rees’ tongue in cheek lyricism showcases the wry wit that marks Missing Out (Again) as the antithesis of tired break up songs, however, the underlying feeling is definitely one of sincerity. A guarded truth amongst the bravado?

This track began life in acoustic form but has since been remade as Rees has acquired a full band around her to give yet more punch and drive to her material. This link between her past and future is important as she moves from singer-songwriter to indie rock frontperson without losing that intimate, confessional tone and sense of fun.
