Students from Northern Academy of Music Education out on a show to bring together the music scenes of the Tees, Tyne and Wear
Students from the Northern Academy of Music Education bring together three rising acts from across the region for Meet in the Middle, a live showcase at Pop Recs, Sunderland on Friday 28th November. The concept is simple: one band each from Newcastle, Sunderland and Teesside, meeting geographically in the middle.
Sunderland’s Pretty Velvet headline with a retro-tinged rock sound that nods to blues and pop influences, fusing raw energy with modern colour. Their set promises a genre-spanning mix built for big hooks and live momentum.
Newcastle’s Park View bring sharp indie sensibilities and a melodic edge, while Teesside’s Risco continue their rapid ascent with a sound that blends mod swagger, surf rock textures and cinematic flair. Both bands are well known for their frenetic live shows.
With tickets priced at £7 advance and £10 on the door, Meet in the Middle offers a snapshot of the region’s emerging talent in one of the Sunderland’s finest music venues.
