The Hull-based alternative quartet bring their exciting life show to Newcastle, on the back of the release of their most recent album, ABSTRACT / NATURAL
Hull alternative four‑piece LIFE bring their bold new record ABSTRACT / NATURAL to The Grove, Newcastle on Thursday 1st October, kicking off a run of UK dates where they’ll perform the album in full. Released in June, the band’s fourth LP marks their most expansive and imaginative work yet. It’s a folklore‑flecked, landscape‑shaped collection born from frontman Mez Sanders‑Green’s poetry and long-distance walks, where rugged hills, myths and geography became characters on the page before evolving into vivid, widescreen songs delving into universal themes of escapism and journey.
Those fragments were developed instinctively by the band at their self-built Hull studio The Moon Factory, a DIY hub on the river that now supports emerging Northern artists. The result is a record that moves between sweeping terrain, personal stories and post‑punk energy, balancing cathartic bursts like Drinking Games with dreamlike, ambient moments and cinematic flourishes.
With continued support from BBC 6 Music and a reputation for electrifying live shows, LIFE arrive in Newcastle ready to push ABSTRACT / NATURAL into full, visceral focus.
