Live music returns to The Globe (behind closed doors) on 12th July with a live stream performance from the region’s finest jazz quartet
The swanky new The Globe in Stockton might not be open for business yet but that’s not stopping them from letting artists take to their stage and beaming their live performances onto our phone, laptop and TV screens via Facebook & YouTube.
Using their swish new sound and video equipment the art-deco, 3,000 capacity music venue will be hosting a series of live stream performances from the likes of Archipelago, Emma Fisk’s Hot Club du Nord, Alice Grace Quartet, The Byker Hillbillies, AXLS, Simon Todd and Phil Caffrey.
First up on Sunday 12th July (at 8pm) is the Zoe Gilby Quartet, featuring powerful performer and Parliamentary Jazz Awards’ Jazz Vocalist of the Year, Zoe Gilby, double bassist, husband and songwriting partner, Andy Champion, as well as Mark Williams and drummer Russ Morgan. Their engaging repertoire of storytelling and atmosphere, alongside covers of contemporary composers from Kate Bush to Pink Floyd and the sensitive treatment of jazz standards will make for an entertaining evening.
If you enjoy the opening event and are looking for more quality live music then the following Friday (17th July) young bluegrass maestros The Often Herd take to the empty Globe.
