Middlesbrough’s multi-venue music festival, Twisterella, have confirmed their event this October unfortunately won’t go ahead as planned, but organisers aren’t resting on their laurels – they’ve already announced the first wave of artists to perform at 2021’s event.

Taking place on Saturday 9th October 2021, the award-winning festival continues to be the best place to discover new music in the region. With a commitment to bringing exciting emerging talent from across the UK and beyond, as well as providing a high-profile platform for the North East’s brightest acts, Twisterella is a must for any music lover.

Among the first wave of artists announced for next year’s event are rising alt. indie stars The Howl & The Hum, charismatic indie sensation Lauran Hibberd, ‘punk witches’ Dream Nails, UK-based Nordic pop trio I See Rivers, Leeds/Hartlepool’s effervescent alt. grrrl rockers VENUS and Durham’s power pop supergroup Fortitude Valley. Further local talent confirmed to perform includes Mt. Misery, James Leonard Hewitson, Jodie Nicholson, Twist Helix and Leopard Rays, and there’s many more acts to be announced.

“Whilst we were initially sad that it was impossible for the event to run as planned this year, we’re thrilled that a significant number of acts who were confirmed to play this year will now join us in 2021 for what will be the biggest and best Twisterella yet,” explains Twisterella co-promoter Andy Carr. “Along with our partner venues and sponsors, we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the heart of Middlesbrough and we promise that Twisterella 2021 will be well worth the wait – as always, your new favourite band awaits you.”

Tickets for Twisterella 2021 are on sale now priced at £20.
