Award-winning music festival Twisterella is a decade old this year and has been teasing us with the delights it will have to offer us with its first wave announcement earlier this year. To build the excitement further, Middlesbrough’s multi-venue extravaganza (taking place on Saturday 12th October) has dished out a second lot of loveliness, which carries on its tradition of showcasing the freshest talent and established favourites.

Joining the already-announced artists, including Pom Poko, Martha, Sun King, GANS, Be Quiet. Shout Loud!, Brodie Milner, Fiona-Lee, Make Friends, Melanie Baker, Moon Wax,  Pet Snake, Provenance, The Joshua Hotel, and Velkro, are spellbinding storyteller Amelia Coburn, eclectic modern rock outfit The Manatees and blissed out indie-folk duo Sunflower Thieves as well as a whole load of the UK/the North-East’s best and brightest, such as Baby Said, GANS, Irked, Loren Heat, Alex Lyons, Marina Josephina, Marketplace, Perfect Chicken, Plasticine, Shakk, Sun King, The Chase, The Early Purple and The Ilfords.

2024 will also see the return of (Un)Conference; a vital, inclusive forum which brings key figures from across the music industry together in Middlesbrough to share their expertise, offering advice and feedback to Teesside’s next exciting generation of artists.

Co-promoter of Twisterella, Henry Carden, adds, “We’re absolutely buzzing with all the artists that we’re bringing to Middlesbrough for our 10th Twisterella. The focus for us, as always, is on the brightest and best breaking artists, but we’ve also tipped our hat to the past decade with some old friends coming back to play for us again. Shakk will be performing at Twisterella for the first time since 2019, but this time, he’ll be making his full band debut and we can’t wait! Amelia Coburn is also making her full band Twisterella debut after a stunning solo set way back in 2017… She’ll be opening up our brand new Middlesbrough Town Hall Crypt stage too, which is gonna be unmissable!”
