The big announcements for This Is Tomorrow keep on coming. Having confirmed it will return on 22-24th May 2020, the festival has announced two of the biggest names in music right now as headliners. Stadium filling Scottish singer-songwriter Gerry Cinnamon will headline Saturday and Brit Award winner and album chart-topping act Sam Fender will be performing a special hometown show to bring the festival to a close.

Both artists have dominated 2019, with Cinnamon’s knack for captivating storytelling armed with little more than his guitar and Sam’s combination of timely song topics and seamlessly produced alternative music, resulting in an extremely large and loyal following and received widespread critical acclaim.

Reacting to the announcement, festival organiser Steve Davis, said: “With Friday’s headliners and the full line-up for all days still to be added, we’re confident this will be one of the stand-out live music events in the country for 2020. We have worked positively with both Sam and Gerry’s teams to bring lineups that both headliners wanted, I am really happy with the end result. As ever I’d like to thank the Freemen of Newcastle, Urban Green and Newcastle Council for their can-do attitude when it comes to bringing large scale events to the city. We have new elements to add to the festival in 2020 and we are excited to see it develop, to have two of the UK’s hottest talents headlining is really positive for the event.”

Joining them on the bill are egendary noughties indie band The Kooks, hip hop star Loyle Carner, 2019 Brits British Breakthrough artist Tom Walker, Liverpool indie rockers Circa Waves, singer-songwriter Declan McKenna, North East born stars Nadine Shah and L Devine and London newcomer Arlo Parks.

This year’s event promises to be the biggest and best to date. Tickets for This is Tomorrow are on sale 10:00 am Friday 6th December from their website
