Jumpin’ Hot Club, Newcastle and Gatehead’s long serving purveyors of fine music, are bringing the world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band to The Cluny 2 on Thursday 9th May.

Canadian quartet, The Sadies are a versatile and imaginative band that switch between astral psychedelia, acid folk, alt-country and righteous garage-rock with great aplomb. They’ve also worked with some of the biggest names in the business, collaborating with the likes of Neko Case, R&B legend Andre Williams, Kurt Vile, The Mekons, Jon Langford, Jon Spencer, Robyn Hitchcock, John Doe, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Gord Downie and even Neil Young!

They are a prolific band and that keep getting better with time as their tenth and most recent release Northern Passages (released in 2017) demonstrates. It ranks not only as their best work but as one of this decade’s most sophisticated surveys of rock ’n’ roll.

The Sadies are a cult band adored by their loyal fanbase and a band’s band who everyone wants to work with. More importantly they’re a band you must go and see live, even if it’s just to gain kudos in 20 years time when you acknowledge your hipster grandkids retro The Sadies T-Shirt.

Tickets are £14 ADV and available via the Cluny website.
