An online festival takes place from 18th -22nd January 2021 designed to help their students prepare for the changes coronavirus has made to Film, Stage and Television
Covid-19 has changed everything and those in the creative industries are having to constantly adapt more than most to keep going. To prepare their students from Acting and the Film, TV and Theatre degree courses for these changes The Northern School of Art are creating an online theatre festival called Interact. It’s a week-long festival taking place 18th – 22nd January 2021 with a different event every night including mockumentaries, theatre, comedy and Q&A sessions.
From Thursday 21st and Friday 22 January the festival will feature streamed performances of Georg Buchner’s 19th century tragedy ‘Woyzeck’ which is being directed by the School’s Acting Lecturer, David Edwards and has been updated to make it relevant to the world we currently live in. It includes a mix of live-streamed performance, recorded montage and projection mapping and will use Instagram and Twitter to explore Woyzeck’s thoughts and allow the audience to follow other characters outside the world of the play.
The ‘Interact’ Online Theatre Festival runs from 18 – 22 January 2021. All events are free but contributions to partner charities Mind and The Trussell Trust are welcome. Further details will be available via www.northernart.ac.uk
