Reliably informed

His life has seen him travel from the grubby streets of Manchester to the palm tree-lined boulevards of Beverley Hills, so it’s somewhat surprising that, for all his travels and eclectic experiences, Terry Christian has never performed a stand up show. Well, until now that is. Naked Confessions of a Recovering Catholic sees Christian taking a snapshot of life through a very different lens.

The show promises to show off all the maverick qualities that made Christian a bete-noire in the 90s (on shows such as Channel 4’s The Word) and he’ll be taking on all of the big topics: sex, violence, religion and class. It’s a bold move for someone who’s never done a stand up show before but it’s a move that only Christian could really pull off. Besides, with a no-holds barred Q&A session planned for after the performance, it’s always a chance just to see what major Hollywood celebrities such as Tom Hanks and Arnold Schwarzenneger are really like. Go on, you know you want to.

Terry Christian comes to the Gala Theatre, Durham on Friday 25th September.
