An inventive group art exhibition is to breath new life into the popular culture of Teesside. Thursday 9th June sees a showcase of talented young artists brought together to put their twist on consumerist logos, consumption, politics, iconography and the power of public protest.
Rachel Deakin, Rebecca Reed, Cody Sowerby, Jade Sweeting and Charlotte Winskill use classic pop art signature elements including the bright, vibrant, flat colours to give a new twist on mass production values, just as pop art once did, in turn, modernising relevant current culture. Filled with iconic images of Teesside, this is a rare, one-off exhibition which gives a new way to look at Teesside.
Teesside goes POP is at The House Of Blah Blah, Middlesbrough on Thursday 9th June.
