Teesside music charity Tees Music Alliance recently announced their Music Industry Taster Day to offer those who might fancy a job in the music a flavour of what they can expect. This informal taster day takes place on Sunday 14th August at The Georgian Theatre, Stockton and features a variety of industry professionals who will be giving attendees helpful advice and insightful demonstrations.

Tees Music Alliance’s programming manager Christopher Cobain will be answering any questions people may have about promoting gigs and roles within a music venue, alongside any general advice on jobs within the industry. NARC. Magazine editor Claire Dupree will be offering advice to any budding reporters, photographers and media makers. They’ll be joined by sound engineer Nathan Stephenson, who will be covering any queries with regards to getting started in live sound, and lighting engineer Nicholas Hare, who will be discussing all things illumination.

Christopher Cobain, who organised the event adds…
“The aim of the day is to show people that there is a way for them to have a career in the industry. It can be seen as quite a niche thing to get into, or that you need to be in a band to work in the music industry but that’s not true. There are many different staff involved in putting a gig on and pretty much all skills can be transferred into a role within the music industry.”

The event is free, but booking is required. To secure your space, click here.
