NEWS: Staithe @ Black Swan Arts Centre

Wonderful folk-adjacent duo Staithe – recently rechristened from Brick which, let’s be fair, made them sound like an Oi! band – seem ceaselessly busy right now, not least with a gig this month at Newcastle Arts Centre. The centre has a new folk programme – The F Word – and Staithe appear (in the Black Swan venue) on Thursday 12^th December.

Bridie and Nick (see, now the Brick name makes sense, right?) will doubtless turn in a set of ‘dreamy acoustic music’ and, in keeping with all the best folk nights, there will be floor spots too, so other local folk artists can share what they’re up to. The F Word is being programmed alongside promoter Graham Barker (Down By The River) and will be monthly, with the floor spots hosted by excellent locally-based folk musician Alisdair Paul.
