South Tyneside’s highly successful hoot-fest returns for a fourth year from Friday 12th-Sunday 28th July, with a host of well-known names and top up-and-comers set to bring mirth and mayhem to The Customs House in the venue’s 25th anniversary year.

Festival director Jason Cook makes a couple of appearances (his unscripted show with Carl Hutchinson on Saturday 13th has already sold out), and his performance with comedy cohort and musician Glen Roughead – at which the duo perform songs about love, mortgages and getting the Metro (as you do) – will be a highlight of the programme on Saturday 27th. Crafty Canadian Tom Stade provides another highlight headline show on Sunday 28th, as does telly favourite Jo Caulfield on the same night. Local favourite Gavin Webster performs on Thursday 25th, while well-regarded comic Adam Rowe (who won the prestigious Joke of the Fringe award at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe) returns to the Customs House on Friday 12th after a sell-out show last time around. One of Jason’s tips for the hottest show of the festival includes Scott Bennett’s performance on Friday 26th, and there’s multi-award winning physical comedy from The Kagools in a special family show on Saturday 13th.

Jason’s justifiably proud of the line-up this year. “We are a small festival and purposely so, we don’t just book anyone like other festivals! So get yourself down to any of our shows and get laughing with us!”
