Newcastle’s entertainment and city guide website InNewcastle.co.uk is helping raise money for the city’s theatres with the sale of A4 prints designed by local artist Elizabeth Carins
It’s no secret that venues are having a hard time as of late. Even with the recent news of government support, social distancing will mean that most venues, who rely on ticket sales and donations, will remain shut to remain viable.
To support the venues within Newcastle, entertainment and city guide InNewcastle.co.uk, founded by blogger Aaron Whittington, have launched a range of A4 photo prints to aid fundraising for 11 theatres in or around Newcastle upon Tyne. The prints designed by Newcastle artist Elizabeth Carins of Blinkin’ Imp celebrate the Tyne Theatre & Opera House, Newcastle Theatre Royal, Sage Gateshead, Live Theatre Newcastle, Northern Stage, People’s Theatre, Little Theatre Gateshead, Alphabetti Theatre, Gosforth Civic Theatre and The Customs House, with all profits made from their sale going to the theatres.
Being someone who has enjoyed the city’s cultural offerings in the past, meant it was a project Elizabeth Carins was keen to be involved in,‘’It means a great deal to have been selected to design this piece. Over the years I have been to many of the North East theatres, to enjoy numerous music gigs and performances; definitely some of the highlights of my life. The arts mean a lot to me and often inspire me in my own creative work.’’
A group image or individual images of the venues can be now purchased online via the Etsy store.
