Iowa’s favourite masked sons Slipknot are coming back to Newcastle’s Utilita Arena on Friday 17th January, hot off the back of their rip-roaring 2019 album We Are Not Your Kind.
After causing something close to a revolution when they burst onto the scene in the 1990s, Slipknot have never left their perch at the top of the heavy metal hierarchy. Turning heads with their red boiler suits, macabre masks and unorthodox sound, Slipknot inspired a generation of teenagers who thought they were outsiders to come together.
24 years, a few mask changes and six albums under their belts and in 2019 Slipknot are just as relevant as they’ve ever been. They are truly one of the most enduring metal bands of all time, inspiring countless bands throughout their career whilst continuing to evolve and adapt their own sound.
Award-winning albums and iconic singles aside, what has really cemented Slipknot’s legendary status over the years is their infamous live shows. With eight bodies on stage all going crazy, Corey Taylor and co. bring with them a show like no other. Expect fire, crashing percussion, meaty riffs and all out heavy metal mayhem.
