Max Cooper needs no introduction in the electronic music world – his unique mix of intricate sound design infused with lush, yearning synths have truly set him apart from his contemporaries in recent years. Add to this his infatuation with boundary-pushing audio-visual shows that delight the eyes as well as the ears, and you have one of the most interesting artists of his kind.

Hardly a stranger to playing historical sites, Cooper brings his blend of music and visual art to Newcastle’s Cosmic Ballroom (moved from the Boiler Shop) on Friday 11th October for a show that is bound to be a feast for the senses. Just last year he produced the critically acclaimed One Hundred Billion Sparks album, but he’s already producing new sounds. His new project is named Yearning For The Infinite – a highly conceptual project which attempts to explore the vastness of infinity though sounds and space that comes courtesy of the Barbican Gallery.

There’s little doubt that Cooper will bring these fresh sounds to Cosmic Ballroom, alongside a visual show that is sure to dazzle. For fans of techno, ambient or general bleeps and bloops, then this one is sure to be right up your street.
