Reliably informed

If you’ve not previously become acquainted with the slightly leftfield but delightful sounds that envelope the Old Police House, master of the Welsh harp Rhodri Davies is helping to introduce us all to some of the best electronic and experimental musicians in the region. His all day event at the venue is shaping up to be a feast no one will want to miss.

Highlights on the day include an appearance by cult folk legends Cath & Phil Tyler, as well as Dawn Bothwell’s loop mastery in her solo project Pentecostal Project. Shelly Knotts, John Pope and Faye MacCalman will be sharing a bill in what should be an interesting clash, while experimentalists Hapsburg Bragazna and :zoviet*france will also be stunning with rare live sets. Davies himself will also be performing Hen Ogledd alongside one of our finest exports, Richard Dawson. Dawson will also be DJing on the day. Also taking to the decks are Callan, Peter Evans, alt. vinyl and Mariam Rezaei.

If you needed any more persuading, the knowledge that all funds raised will be going to a good cause – the Refugee Council – should help to tip the balance.

The Hauskonzert all dayer takes place at the Old Police House, Gateshead on Saturday 31st October.
