Attending live music performances that exhibit incredible new bands and DJs is a guaranteed corker of a night in itself, but when all the proceeds are going to charity there’s even more reasons to be cheerful.

On Saturday 16th July The Cluny will host the Grace House Summer Showcase, a fundraising event that aims to raise money for a respite and short break care centre for children with complex disabilities and life limiting conditions. The gig features an outstanding selection of regional acts including ‘shautrockers’ Nine Tons, fuzzed-up dreamy collective High Tide 15:47, punk outfit Cheap Lunch and Apple Scruffs, a band which boasts two members of the Sunderland six-piece Lilliput.

The night won’t end there however, as following shortly on the bands’ tails will be a hefty amount of DJ sets from the likes of Moon Rocks, Cubik, Nightworx and It Lives, ensuring that attendees will be kept bouncing about well into the night. With such a wonderful variety of genres on offer, the showcase will undoubtedly be one of those events to see and be seen at. Do your bit.

Grace House Summer Showcase takes place at The Cluny, Newcastle on Saturday 16th July.
