Social media sensation Bands FC has been racking up the attention across the likes of Twitter for bringing together the worlds of football and music and raising money in the process for charity. A unique exhibition of their work combining football team badges and band logos comes to Pop Recs in Sunderland from Friday 18th until Sunday 20th January.

This free showcase of their work, shows how a simple idea of bands as football teams, and football teams as bands is full of fun, and there’ll be some excellent merch available on the day, such as enamel badges of their Frightened Rabbit/Hearts crossover, with all the money going towards a charity in the memory of Scott Hutchison, the band’s singer.

There’s also badges for Camera Obscura, The Charlatans, Maximo Park, Chas and Dave and Public Service Broadcasting will all profits going to charities close to their hearts. Saturday features an evening gig with the excellent Roxy Girls and Pit Pony, and the exhibition runs from 10am to 5pm on Friday 18th, 10am to 7pm Saturday 19th, with a £5 entry for the gig the same day and finally 7pm to 10pm and 11am to 4pm on Sunday 20th.

Bands FC’s exhibition runs at Pop Recs, Sunderland for free from Friday 18th until Sunday 20th January.
