Newcastle’s indie theatre launches it’s Christmas single as well as announcing a couple of fundraising events
The season of giving approaches and Alphabetti Theatre is doing what it can to raise much needed funds with their Festive Fundraiser and seasonal song to take the coveted Christmas number 1 spot.
The track, Love From, captures the bittersweet realities of Christmas in 2021 and is written by Alphabetti’s own Artistic Director Ali Pritchard, and performed by a whole host of UK artists, with melodies and harmonies provided by North-East based artists. It will be available on all streaming and download platforms from Friday 19th November, with a single-launch fundraiser the following evening (20th November) featuring a live performance of the song, music from Wilf Stone, a secret special guest and lots of lovely prizes. Alphabetti will also launch their regular giving scheme, Be a Alphabetti Pal, to raise funds vital to the continued growth and survival of the venue.
Saturday 11th December sees the return of Alphabetti’s fabled Festive Fundraiser Auction, hosted by Steve Byron and Gary Kitching, followed by the legendary Alphabetti Christmas Disco.
Ali Pritchard adds, As a small scale arts organisation, we are used to living on a financial knife edge. Despite the knife getting sharper and sharper throughout the pandemic ,Alphabetti Theatre continued to stick by our aims as we ran a full and diverse online program, whilst developing and completely reworking our programming policy to better fit the northeast performing arts ecology. Now we need the support to continue what we do and help it be even better. We believe that great art should be for everyone, not just those who can afford it.
