Focus: Finn Forster

Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Finn Forster, I am a singer songwriter from Middlesbrough, UK.

What is it you do?
I’m an Artist who spends my time playing live touring the UK & Internationally, writing, recording and releasing my music that spans across genres such as Indie, Rock, Country & Pop. 

How long have you been doing it?
I started playing Irish folk covers at gigs in my family band from a young age . It wasn’t until 2020 when I launched my solo project during lockdown. When I started all I knew was how to write songs and play live. I had no idea on how to properly release music so I started from scratch, learning as I went and putting in a ton of hard work along the way. Eventually I was able to start building a team to help me properly plan and structure my career.

Who or what inspires you?
I’m inspired by great songwriters and performers who make you feel something. Artists like Chris Stapleton, Stereophonics & Paolo Nutini for me personally. It’s been a massive privilege to support Stereophonics around Europe as they’re one of my main influences. Being able to learn from them has been an experience I’ll never forget.

Tell us about your work/music/creative practice.
I’ve just released my EMBERS EP in May 2025 and I’m heading into a lot of live shows for summer. Behind the scenes I’m also writing and recording another EP. I love writing about personal experiences and bringing my life into my songs. For the next EP we’re going out to Ireland so I can explore my Irish roots and bring some of that into my new music. 

What do you have coming up in the near future?
I’m about to go back on tour with Stereophonics, this time supporting them in stadiums across the UK. I then head into my busiest festival season so far, playing the likes of Reading & Leeds, Kendall Calling main stage, Truck Festival, Ynot, Latitude and more. I’ll then be finishing this year with my own UK headline tour in Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol, London and my biggest hometown headline show to date at Middlesbrough Empire.
