The Middlesbrough artist tries to encapsulate the essence of his heartfelt new single, Pablo, using three other tracks

Teesside songsmith Finn Forster drops his latest single, Pablo. The track pays tribute to a college friend who returned to Iran at 21 and was unable to come back for almost six years. The track reflects on absence and the emotion of reconnecting once Pablo finally returned to the UK.
Sonically, the track leans into warm Americana guitar tones, with Finn’s vocal at its most soulful and assured. The chorus lifts with driving rhythms, building intensity through the change and underlining the song’s heartfelt core.
Here, Finn attempts to encapsulate the essence of the track using three other tracks…
Sultans Of Swing – Dire Straits
I absolutely love the groove of this song, it’s such a slick tune and it stood out to me immediately. I think I was subconsciously taking in these elements when I was first laying down the chords for Pablo on my acoustic guitar. I love writing at home and then developing my songs out at a later date. It allows for more influences to come forward when I go back to the songs.
Back To Friends – Sombr
I was definitely putting myself into the headspace of contemporising classic instrumentation a lot while creating Pablo. Sombr is a stand out artist for me who does it perfectly and Back To Friends is a great example of taking timeless instruments and sounds and bringing them into 2025. I really rate his sound.
Lucy – Louis Dunford
Louis has always had an effortless way of being able to transcend you into the world he’s written about through amazing story telling. Drawing on personal experience and scenarios, it’s something I love to do also. Lucy is a prime example of a song where if you just read the lyrics on paper It would still captivating because of the distinctiveness of the story that’s being told. It’s real and it’s honest.
