Middlesbrough based indie-folk singer-songwriter Finn Forster drops his powerful new video to his recent single, Remnants. The video saw the solo artists team up with videographer Eddy Maynard and Director Jeannie May Adam to produce a visual accompaniment that raises awareness about mental health.

Here, Finn shares with us his top five favourite music videos…

Given the fact I’ve just released the official  video for my latest single Remnants, I figured it would be fitting to give my top 5 favourite music videos of all time. In no particular order…

Arctic Monkeys – Fluorescent Adolescent

So unexpected, so random. Just right up my street. I also love Stephen Graham in pretty much anything. It’s a video you literally can’t not watch.

Michael Jackson – Thriller

Iconic, what more can be said? Git to be one of if not the most famous record of all time, I know it’s the highest selling. I always love how Michael Jackson’s music videos were always almost little short films in their own right. I don’t think I could ever get bored of watching Thriller.

Travis – A Ghost

I love people who take bad situations or setbacks and literally turn them into something positive no matter how tough things get because I’ve been doing that all my life. So when I found out that Fran Healy spent 30 days hand drawing his entire music video and getting his 14 year old son involved with his drone after lockdown 1 completely ruined his original filming plans, it became one of my favourite vids of all time. It’s worth a watch if you haven’t seen it, especially now you know that.

Ian Brown – Stellify

What a cool vid, just casually walking through the streets of Manchester with a forty strong marching band behind him. Absolutely mega. I’d easily do something like that through Boro for one of mine, I’d probably have to wait till I have enough budget to divert traffic or I’d probably just get run over or beeped at loads annoying the hell out of everyone.

Childish Gambino – This is America

So bold, with creativity used to send a message, I was hooked from the start. Absolutely amazingly shot, written and then filmed. I didn’t think I could respect Donald anymore than I did but this video changed everything.
