Opening track Ultimate Hammer heralds some mean trademark roughage for Newcastle’s Pigsx7 that unfailingly get the locks flowing, and there’s a sense of the epic all the way through this stickiest stick of heavy rock.

Here we find the paganism of The Weatherman, summoning gods of mindless violence, wielding guitars of bones, who obliging your reverence proceed to slap you round the chops, and also where you can get fixed up by Mr Medicine, who prescribes rip roaring riffs as the salve to cure all. Highlights are Big Rig, Pigs’ Sab’s ‘Symptom of the Universe’ moment, and the anthemic Maidenesque Pipe Down!, replete with tempo switches and lead-weight chunkiness, they’ll be at Sage Gateshead soon where I’ll be lead headbanger!
