Sunderland indie-pop outfit, who release their new single Getting Older, tell us what their perfect show would look like
Sunderland indie-pop outfit The Last Time release their second single, Getting Older. Driving rhythms, beautifully layered harmonies that occasionally slip into country territory, and a rich tapestry of sound punctuated by sharp breaks and drenched in guitar, the track lands as a four‑minute blast of sonorous wonder.

Our dream show would be at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, early evening, just as the light starts to drop behind the rocks.
Everything runs smoothly for once. Soundcheck is quick, the sound engineer is actually helpful, and the monitors sound exactly how you want them to without having to keep asking.
Backstage there’s basically a conveyor belt of all our favourite food going round constantly: Nando’s, Wagamama, McDonald’s, Greggs, sweet treats, and unlimited Pepsi Max, Monster Energy and Red Bull. No one’s really keeping track of anything.
The whole thing starts with us parachuting in (which is objectively unnecessary, but we’re committing to it) as “The Chain” is played by Fleetwood Mac themselves on stage. It makes no sense but also feels completely right. Benson Boone is already on stage doing backflips for no real reason other than he can.
Support acts are ridiculous in the best way: boygenius and Gracie Abrams to start, with Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones hanging backstage like emotional support. Then it just gets more and more unhinged. Queen, Taylor Swift, a full One Direction reunion, and Prince somehow in the mix too.
When we go on, Scarlett is in something overly sparkly, everyone else is dressed normally (not too far off all of our shows).
The whole show is just chaos in a good way: fireworks going off, beach balls with our faces on flying over the crowd, and so much confetti it’s a bit ridiculous. Everyone’s in our merch, everyone’s singing, no one’s trying to look cool, they’re just fully in it.
By the end it doesn’t really feel like a “set” anymore, it just feels like one big moment that no one wants to end.
