The Wombats return to Newcastle next summer for a huge headline show at Times Square on Friday 24th July 2026 — their biggest outdoor North East date yet. Fresh from packing out the Utilita Arena, the indie favourites bring an expanded version of their sixth album Oh! The Ocean, following a run of major festival sets and a career that’s taken them from late‑’00s breakout stars to bona fide arena heavyweights.
Since breaking through in the late‑’00s, The Wombats have grown from scrappy indie upstarts into arena‑filling heavyweights. Their catalogue remains a staple of indie dancefloors and festival fields, powered by sharp hooks, wry humour and a talent for turning chaos into catharsis.
Support comes from Red Rum Club and Cherryholt, with promoters Liift Live promising another standout Times Square night.
