Filmmaker, musician and surfer Travis Shaw releases new video Moving Parts today, and we are delighted to bring you the premiere of it, right here, right now.

The Saltburn-by-the-sea native told us more about both his career and the new release. Over to you Travis….

From a young age I was surrounded by music and probably picked up my first guitar when I was about ten years old and started writing songs at around the age of twelve. I played my first gig when I was twelve. I played in various different bands growing up, many with one of my best friends Chad Male (Cape Cub).

I recently graduated in BA Film at Falmouth University.

Music took a back seat for me for a while whilst I was studying, all my focus was directed on my course work and film. After graduating I travelled over to Indonesia and Australia in search for waves and film work. Whilst away, I pined for my guitar more than I had in many years, no guitar available I took pen to paper and started writing poetry/songs on the road.

Whilst I was in Australia, I fell very ill and had to fly back home. I was housebound for a few months of 2018. I tried to turn my situation around by using my time creatively, because to be honest it was sending me slightly mad. I channeled all my energy into my music. Moving Parts is a product of that, and how I was overwhelmed by the love and support that was around me. That time alone shifted a lot of things into perspective for me. I am now fully recovered and in good health and my love for writing and creating music has re-emerged.

Moving Parts is the first piece of music I’ve recorded and released in over seven years.

I’ve currently just finished recording my debut E.P Balance up in Newcastle with Chad Male, he’s produced the whole thing for me. He’s an absolute wizard in that studio of his and this should be released in April this year.
