We fire across seven very random questions to comedian Si Beckwith ahead of Little Robot’s very first Spacebar Comedy Club in Sunderland on Friday 30th May
North East production company Little Robot launches its first-ever stand-up comedy night at Sunderland’s SpaceBar Arcade on Friday, 30th May. Expect arcade games, cocktails, and a stellar lineup featuring top national talent, local favorites, and rising stars, all delivering wall-to-wall laughter.
Headlining the night is Michael Legge, an award-winning veteran of the comedy circuit, alongside Alex Mitchell, fresh from the Britain’s Got Talent 2024 final. Joining them are Laurie Brewster, a So You Think You’re Funny? finalist, rising star Kelly Younghorn and Si Beckwith, a seasoned tour support act and BBC Radio regular.
Ahead of the show, we fire across seven very random questions to Si Beckwith…
If animals could talk, which species do you think would have the most unhinged opinions, and why?
Dogs. Best animals in the world, but they’re utter chaos and total wildcards. Our hound loves a bit of YouTube, and I dread to think of the blackholes he’d get stuck down.
If you had to choose between only walking backwards for a year or only speaking in rhymes, which would you pick and how would you survive?
Speaking in rhymes for sure,
I guess I’d just accept there is no cure.
Living each day making rhyming noise,
Find two mates to end sentences like the Beastie BOYS.
What’s a wildly unnecessary invention that you firmly believe the world needs?
Transparent toasters, so I can check on the toast’s toastiness without having to pop it up and down.
If a dramatic movie voiceover narrated your most mundane daily routine, which activity would sound like a life-or-death thriller?
Shitting.
What’s something you will never understand, no matter how many times someone explains it?
Paddy McGuinness’ career.
If you woke up tomorrow with an entirely new skill—no learning curve, just instant mastery—what would it be, and how would you abuse it?
Karate. Roundhouse kicks dished out to all my foes.
That Paul McCartney died in 1966 and was replaced by a Paul McCartney look alike. Or a hundred squirrels in a Paul McCartney suit.
