Following the launch of The Dance of Time Quest at the Gala Concert during Billingham Festival 2023, Billingham International Folklore Festival of World Dance will continue the project across 2024. Funded by Arts Council, it will include 20 creative walks at parks and green spaces in Tees Valley and will be inspired by the great contemporary artist and sculptor, Salvador Dali, who was driven by his love for dance and nature.

These walks will take in all five boroughs of the Tees Valley, including Darlington; Hartlepool; Middlesbrough; Redcar & Cleveland; and Stockton-on-Tees, and aim to capture the ever-changing beauty of nature across all four seasons. The walks will be led by professional dancers from the North East and Yorkshire and will be captured by resident visual North East artist and photographer, Shirley Wells, who will then weave the results together to create a magical collection of work.

Each Dance of Time walk will take 90 minutes and are open to a maximum of 30 participants, with all ages welcome

Sunday, 11th February – South Park, Darlington
Saturday, 17th February – Stewart Park, Middlesbrough – FULLY BOOKED
Sunday, 18th February – Locke Park, Redcar
Sunday, 25th February – Ropner Park, Stockton
