A brand new comedy night launched in Stockton last month, seeking to give a home to some of the awesome acts we have right here in the North East, and championing the weird and wonderful along the way, which is very much as it should be for a night taking their name from a hilarious Vic & Bob sketch. The Shoe Cake Comedy Club returns for its Sophomore show on Thursday 1st June at Musiclounge.

This month welcomes headliner Fran Garrity, who has kicked on massively over the last couple of years, with a sell-out solo show and some captivating material that delivers big laughs, Fran is a real act to watch out for. With energetic host Carl Gillespie holding the show together, and newer acts like Russell Towers, Kate Jackson, Cash Boyle and Dan Triscott rounding it all out, this is a show you won’t want to miss.

As if that wasn’t enough though, The Shoe Cake Comedy Club is completely free, with the passionate brains behind it all Phil Smith seeking to give the people of Stockton the chance to share in his love of stand-up comedy without having to dig deep. The first show was a rip-roaring success, so let’s look forward to more of the same, as it continues on the first Thursday of every month.

The Shoe Cake Comedy Club is at Musiclounge Stockton on Thursday 1st June.
